Hey fellow Palettitians.
Trust me when I say my X (formerly Twitter) feed has now more than ever been flooded with tweets from designers scouting for suitable job offerings and support. No doubt, this is a good gesture, nonetheless, it's pertinent to stress the relevance of volunteering and social media maximization. Absolutely no one wants to sell himself as a conventional designer, I can place a bet on that.
A conventional designer, unlike an evolving one, is only grounded on basic methods of knowledge acquisition and professional ethics. He plunges himself into seeking jobs after getting the most basic knowledge. Most reveredly, he doesn't subscribe to the philosophy of volunteering. The relevance of volunteering can't be overemphasized. Volunteering for a company or organization offers regulations in refining your craft ( it happens that we all need that deadline regulations to keep a right track). Additionally, volunteering presents opportunities such as exposure and networking.
Following the aforementioned account of my experience on X, I observed upon my visitation to the pages of a few of the designers that I couldn't decipher what exactly got me there at first as it was the case that they barely had their works posted. There was clearly no hook.
Social media is a machinery and tool for propelling the success of a designer— utilize it. Try the social media charm, and even if you don't win, you win. Realistically, it's possible to now pitch to the public, all thanks to the internet. All there is to do is to develop consistency with posting designs and creating a resourceful community online. Also, it's advisable to join trends. They somehow will always have an effect on the algorithm of your posts. Potential clients are now just a click away. Hence, the only possible way to bridge the gap is by flooding your socials with your designs, after all, what's there to gain by hoarding them? Keep them posted!!
Again, volunteer and maximize your socials. Now, you certainly know how to steeze-up as a designer, you better don't sleep on it—ACT NOW. Until I stumble into another somewhat random but essential jaunt again, I'm sure this was a worthwhile engagement.
