Two Heads Are Better Than One
In a space filled with too many differences, do well to always find a home of familiarity.
Quick notice: Spoiler alert!!!! In case you are still a single Palestinian, you might need to start searching for partner(s). No offense intended.
Trust me, sometimes it can be boring having to share your thoughts and receive feedback from another person, because they always somehow spot the tiny shitty cracks in your design, and maybe that's mostly why a community is needed— to spot the tiny shitty cracks in our designs. Self-justification might always want to win, and that's the reason for another party.
I for once literally loved being a Singleton, I mean creating all the crazy designs and independently analyzing and validating the form and possible remedy for any mishap of the designs. It's more like a single bachelor in an open flat, who for most times enjoys his solitude (the single pringle sort of life, you know!!), but on some other days he wishes his fashion blend could be justified by another, or better still, get a partner's perspective on trivial things. This is where it mostly works. Honestly, as hard as it might sound for the single workman, it's never easy doing and figuring it out alone. How comfortable do you even get along with being that?
Life is really too short to be hooked up with you and yourself. It's about time you explore, connect and network, so you don't eventually become a loner in the design space. You remember the popular statement –two heads are better than one. It's really the realest truth. As a designer, the essence of community cannot be overlooked. A community of like-minded people almost striving for the goal of furnishing their craft is wholesome to behold. A community where ideas and opportunities are shared and discussed, is something every designer must work towards having. Creating or having this kind of circle not only enables you to learn from others, but also instills the spirit of empathy to be conscious of other people and this quality is important when seeking opportunities.
You can now see for yourself that a community, no matter how big or small, so long as its members are like-minded, will always create room for growth for all. It's up to you to now join that community you need. You can start by following people in your field on social media platforms, and communities, likewise. The opportunities are endless —two heads are indeed better than one.
